When you Eat, Pray and Love at Bali

We had this Bali Trip last May 2018, we were thinking of the movie Eat, Pray and Love and the adventure of the actress, Julia Robert as Elizabeth Gilbert.

To lose balance sometimes for love is part of living a balanced life.”

Elizabeth Gilbert, Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman’s Search for Everything

She says also:

“Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it. You must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it.”
― Elizabeth Gilbert, Eat, Pray, Love

This is why we travel in this place, we want to feel the happiness that the character feels, away from a busy life even for days. And to know how their culture and how it can motivate one person to be happy. We experienced the beauty of nature from the rice fields, the falls and their beaches. We enjoyed their spicy food and crackers. We really love this place.

And our itinerary is

Nuka Beach Inn

On our last night in Bali, we booked this hostel which is near the Depansar Airport. The location is good and you will not worry for the timing of your departure as it is around 20 minutes away only.

Their swimming pool is nice, you can use / swim until 10pm. Our room is beside the pool therefore we had a great view.

When we arrived to check-in, there is no staff at the reception and we need to wait. They do not have much people to assist us but the guy who help was very accommodating even he had little knowledge in speaking English.

We never tried their food. We eat out to the nearest food park and try to roam around the vicinity. The souvenir in this area here is much cheaper than Ubud and Seminyak.

Please see my rating below as 1 star for the least or unsatisfactory and 5 star is the most satisfactory feeling for me. Overall its a 4-star.

Ulu Ubud Resort

On our first night/day in Bali, we booked a family suite with breakfast in this resort. It’s a refreshing and relaxing ambiance because of it’s location. You can really feel that you are in a holiday far from the busy and noise of city life.

The receptionist and their staff were accommodating and friendly. They assist the guest very well. They have a free tour within the Ubud rice field area and temples, just approach them on the timing if you want it in the morning or afternoon.

They have a buffet breakfast that consist of a tropical and typical Indonesian food. We tried the Mee Goreng, some bread, fruits and juices.

Bali Bee House

On our second day trip in Bali, we stayed in this cute and comfortable backpacker house. It’s Bali Bee House, a unique place that looks like you are a tiny bee behaving on their hives.

The place is clean and neat. The people are very accommodating. Their food is nice too and also their coffee. There were no nearest restaurant or bar but they cater some Indonesian food that you can order. We tried the bintang beer here. Our accommodation included the breakfast,

I really like the ambiance. This place is for friends who wants to chill and it’s like you got a time travel. Their decorations were things before from their furnitures to kitchenwares. It’s like a mini museum for me that you can see the history and culture of Bali as a “kampong” or village.
